I was a nobody from nowhere. That is, until Jesus Christ became Lord of my life and I gave myself wholly unto the Him.

This occurred in my life when I was only eight years old, and I must tell you, even then I had enough understanding that if I gave my life to Jesus then I no longer belonged to myself. So, I determined to live for Him all of my days.

I became part of the end-time remnant Church, determined to live a remnant lifestyle.

So, what does it mean to be remnant?

Well for starters, when you study it out you discover that a remnant is a piece or part of the original. I am not part of the fake Church. A lot of people are nowadays I am said to say, but I am not one of them. I am part of the original ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ. I am a book of Acts Christians, living and preaching the Bible, and doing the works of Jesus.

I read where one minister defined being remnant as: “To be part of a remnant means you are radically identified and connected to the authentic.” Now I love that! Again, I have no interest in being part of the make-believe Church, which declares a fake gospel that can’t be recognized when compared to the scriptures. I am part of the genuine.

To further define what it means to be remnant, a remnant Christian or church looks and behaves like Jesus. A remnant believer loves what God loves and hates what God hates. And a remnant believer and church will operate in the same anointing that was on Jesus, because we are part of the original.

18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.” Luke 4:18-19 KJV

The same anointing that was on Jesus must then be upon the remnant of the last days. A portion of the remnant life is setting others free with the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit in the same way that Jesus did.

The world is desperate to see an authentic church. Sadly, much of the church today has far removed itself from the original intent of Jesus.

“The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid.” Zephaniah 3:13 KJV

The remnant of God’s people are a different type of people. They refuse to live a life filled with iniquity, and they are not liars or deceivers. On top of that, no matter what they have been through and no matter what their current circumstances are, no one can make them lose heart and live in fear. This is remnant life.

“And now, for a brief moment, grace has been shown us by the Lord our God, Who has left us a remnant to escape and has given us a secure hold in His holy place, that our God may brighten our eyes and give us a little reviving in our bondage.” Ezra 9:8 AMP

The Lord’s plan is that His remnant church escape from all bondage, and the Lord will also revive us too. Revival is the plan of God for the remnant church. And the remnant can’t be revived and held in bondage at the same time. So, His anointing sets us free from all types of bondage. This too, is remnant life.

20 Now in that day the remnant of Israel, and those of the house of Jacob who have escaped, will never again rely on the one who struck them, but will truly rely on the Lord, the Holy One of Israel. 21 A remnant will return, the remnant of Jacob, to the mighty God. 22 For though your people, O Israel, may be like the sand of the sea, Only a remnant within them will return; A destruction is determined, overflowing with righteousness.” Isaiah 10:20-22 NASU

As the remnant, we are to receive deliverance from anything and anyone who bound and afflicted us, and no longer identify ourselves as the bound but those whom Jesus has made free. Because that is who we are!

And we are to lean and rely on the Almighty God for who we are and what we can do, and never identify with the past any longer. This is remnant life, and it’s the best life!
