[x_custom_headline type=”left” level=”h4″ looks_like=”h4″]Here is one of the biggest dilemmas that I see in the Body of Christ today. It seems that a large percentage of Christians actually love what God says in His Word that He hates. Now that’s a problem. A huge problem. [/x_custom_headline]
This lifestyle is not only in direct defiance to God, this rebellion places these believers well within enemy territory, and without any protection at all. The devil takes great pleasure in bringing hurt, harm and destruction upon foolish Christians such as these.
Prior to my dad’s new birth experience and subsequent departure to heaven, he was a full-blooded heathen. I guess it was about four years before he was born again that he decided to become involved with transcendental meditation. On a number of occasions when my mom and I would arrive home from church after an evening service, we would pull up into the driveway only to find that all of the lights were out in the house, and both the front and back doors were cracked open about two inches.
Of course we would walk inside of the house, flip on the lights and give a big “hallelujah” or a “praise the Lord” greeting when we did. And that would usually just tick my dad off something fierce!
He had been instructed that to find a “higher state of consciousness,” he needed to sit quietly in the dark, with the front and back doors cracked open to symbolize his openness to enlightenment. Of course even a casual observer, with only an elementary knowledge of the Word of God, could see that all this really symbolized was an invitation, and an open door to the devil to move in to a person’s life.
This may shock you, but the Body of Christ is doing essentially this same kind of thing all of the time. Many Christians are absolutely head-over-heels in love with the world. And their love for the world is causing them to sit in darkness with the doors to their life left wide open to the devil.
[x_blockquote cite=”I John 2:15-17 KJV” type=”left”]“15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.”[/x_blockquote]
Make up your mind who it is you are going to run with, Jesus or the world. Some Christians are trying to run with God, while they are slow dancing with the devil. That just isn’t going to work.
You may be thinking, “But doesn’t God love the world?” Yes, He loves the people in the world, but He does not love the wicked, sinful, evil practices the people of the world commit. But for some reason, many in the Body of Christ are just fine with these things, and they are not repulsed by them in the least.
At first Christians begin to allow their love for the world into their private lives. Then after a while they became so comfortable with these practices that they bring them into their homes as well. Now their entire household learns to love what God hates. And what this means is that one more Christian family, which God had intended to be a lighthouse to a world engulfed in darkness, has instead put out their light and become comfortable in that very darkness. This is essentially what happened with Lot and his family in the book of Genesis.
Before long we have another Christian family who thinks like the world, acts like the world, dresses like the world, and orders the affairs of their life exactly like the world does.
You see, the world doesn’t care about what God thinks about how they conduct their lives, the plans and decisions they make, the way they spend their money, or the way they raise their kids.
[highlight]But then, neither do most Christians.[/highlight]
The world couldn’t care less about how God feels about what is set before their eyes, fed through their ears, or soaked into their minds through the TV, or movies and music.
[highlight]But then again, neither do most Christians.[/highlight]
In fact, many Christian families help to finance perverted, sleep around, drink around, dope smoking, God mocking, Bible twisting, preacher belittling and truth despising movies, TV shows, books and music, through everything from their movie ticket purchases, to their iTunes downloads.
And what is even worse, is that they have walked so far away from the light that they wouldn’t even understand why I’m making such a big deal about this in the first place. While they should be shocked and mortified by the trash that they are willingly sucking into their lives, they are instead confused as to why it’s even an issue worth discussing.
[x_blockquote type=”left”]The reason why so many Christians have their thinking twisted in this area, and why now they wouldn’t want any of it corrected, is because they are in love with the things of this world. They probably would deny it, but they love what God hates.[/x_blockquote]
And because of all this, they live in enemy territory, and they and their family have become easy prey for a mean, unrelenting devil who seeks their destruction.
Stay out of enemy territory, and instead fall in love with those things that God loves. This is how you will stay out of Satan’s range in these last days.
